Sandy's Racing and Gaming Set for the Grand Open
It opens in two weeks at Eastern Kentucky's first gaming and entertainment center. The center invests $75 million to create nearly 250 new jobs and generate millions of dollars in new tax revenues.
Sandy's Racing and Gaming will open to the public at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 – eager athletes are expected to line up earlier.
"With world-class gaming venues, locally sourced dining options, multiple entertainment stages, and an incredible BetMGM sportsbook lounge, Sandy will be the region's premier entertainment destination," said John Marshall, Sandy's Racing & Gaming Chairman. "There's nothing like Sandy and we can't wait for everyone to experience it."
People 21 and older will be able to play nearly 700 slot-like games, enjoy nightly music performances, and watch live sporting events on three cinema-sized screens while enjoying Big Sandy Burger, Sandy Ale and Sandy's famous handmade pies.
Construction on the 75,000-square-foot gaming facility at 10699 U.S. 60 in Ashland began in April and is led by Kentucky-based D.W. Wilburn Construction and the Tri-State Building Trade. Throughout the project, more than 300 local union members have been employed, with 90% of all materials and supplies made in the U.S. When the doors open, Sandy will hire nearly 250 additional locals.
"We are incredibly proud to be part of the Tri-State community, and even more proud to support the area with new jobs and new tax revenues," said Larry Lucas, president of Revolution Racing, who is leading the project in collaboration with the Eastern Cherokee Indians Band and the Kentucky Quarter Horse Racing Association.
Sandy's Racing & Gaming will feature the state's first quarterly racetrack, horse racing, and gaming facilities. Construction on Sandy Bridge, a racecourse that will be located on 182 acres behind the gaming facilities, is expected to begin in early 2024, with the first race expected to take place in 2025. 바카라사이트
